Eye Candy: Spring Is Here

I spotted this pretty little colorboard on 100 Layer Cake and I just had to share!
I love the way the colors go together and I think it helps that I just so happen to love art, donuts and shoes... Brilliant!

Reality Sets In...

It's hard to explain, but when you are 2 months out from the wedding, and your to-do list begins to include things like:
  • sending out invitations: working on it now
  • doing a practice run through of your hair and make-up: practiced my hair yesterday!
  • finalizing contracts with your bakery and florist, etc: contracts are in the mail
  • Planning the ceremony: we meet with our pastor this week
  • shopping for the honeymoon: always
...Reality sets in.

Here's to the last 53 days of wedding planning!

Rainy Day Weddings

It is a rainy day in Minneapolis, today.
As our outdoor wedding is fast approaching,
I am well aware of the possibility of rain on our BIG day.
So, in an attempt to embrace whatever Mother Nature throws at us,
and a reminder of the things we cannot control,
this morning, I bring you some rainy wedding day inspiration.

Fab Destination Wedding Shoot

I never envisioned a destination wedding for myself,
but seriously, after seeing these photos,
I would reconsider.
(That is, if my wedding weren't 2 months away...)

The following shoot was styled by Grey Likes Weddings and photographed by Troy Grover.
The bride is beautiful, the decor is simple, the bar is stocked and the scenery: amazing!

You can check out the entire shoot at Style Me Pretty.

DIY: "Will you?" Cards

Thought I'd share a little project I did for our flower girl and ring bearer.
I talked to their parents last week just to make sure they were okay with the kids being in the wedding. Once I got the "go ahead" from them, I got to work on cards for each of the kids.
I wanted to send them each something personal to ask them, and isn't it just so fun to get mail?

As you can see, I had most of the things I needed from my days as a scrapbooker...
Paper, hole punch, paper cutter, glue, etc.
I picked out some blank cards and envelopes and we were good to go!

Sent them out today!

Gage and Kaia,
we are so excited for you to be a part of our day!

A Special Gift

This book was handed to me at my aunt's bridal shower and described as "a little something from everyone".
Not knowing what to expect, I turned the first few pages and saw some baby pictures and my mom's handwriting followed by a card signed by my grandma, and I lost it.
I tend to be quite the softy, so it was no surprise that this sentimental gift moved me to tears.

Each invitation to the bridal shower included a blank index card with instructions to fill out the card with a memory, a favorite picture or recipe for me and send it back to the hostess, who would put them all together in this beautiful album for me.

Each card was so personal and so special.
Love this one from my artistic sister:
And this funny recipe from my aunt:
Just to name a few...

I will cherish the entire book forever.

"Showered" with Love.

Last weekend was a blast!
It is safe to say that my shower and bachelorete party were a success!
Because some of my bridesmaids live out of state,
we wanted to have both parties on the same day while they were in town.
We started off Saturday with the shower hosted by my aunt, Jackie.
We mingled while sipping mimosas, she served a delicious lunch(with the help of my mom and grandma), played party games and opened presents!

It was an amazing afternoon with great friends and family, but the party was far from over.
That night, my bridesmaids hosted a celebration in honor of my last night being single.
The bachelorette party took place downtown Minneapolis.
We met at the hotel we were staying in for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres around 7.
Followed by a lingerie shower and great games including a mad lib about Jordan and I, a game of "he said, she said" and my personal favorite, the newlywed game complete with Jordan's answers on video.
Then we were off to Spill The Wine Restaurant, via limo, for a 5-course wine tasting. (Do they know me well, or what?!)
Once the wine was cleared it was out on the town for more drinks and dancing!

Thank you to everyone involved!
I feel incredibly "showered" with your love.
Means so much to me!
