Our Wedding: A Special Moment

On the day of the wedding,

while all of us girls were getting ready,

my sister handed me a gift from my now husband...

I had no idea what to expect but what what I saw first was the school picture from my sophomore year in high school.

 I had given the piture to him and written my phone number on the back along with the message,

"We are SO going to chill this weekend!"

And we did.

He called me that weekend and we went on our first date.

That was eight years ago!

I had no idea that he still had that picture,

and as if that weren't enough,

he also wrote a letter that brought every one of us to tears...

AND, I got an iPhone!

Then, I had to have my make-up re-done.

It was definately a moment that I will NEVER forget,

confirming everything I already knew about

how lucky I was to be marrying this man!

Our Wedding: Preparations

During the planning process, I recieved great advice to try to have everything done at least a week before the wedding- that way the week of is left for pampering and spending time with friends and family that have come into town.
I loved the idea of that!

And although I did my absolute best to have all of the little details done, there were just a few things that had to wait.

Fortunately, my friends and family were more than willing to help the day before the wedding and it all came together perfectly.

I'm Back!

Hello Bloggers!

Thank you to those of you who have been checking in these past couple weeks, and I apologize for my absence.

I can honestly say,

"It's good to be back!"

(However, the time off was necessary!)

Now that things are settling down a bit,

I am so excited to share our wedding with all of you.

Stay tuned for posts from our preparations the day before to the "I Do's" and the all night dance party to the the honeymoon.

It was most definately a success!

We are so excited!

Can't wait to see everyone in Brainerd on Friday as we kick off the festivities with the Groom's Golf Tournament in the morning and a bonfire for all of our wedding guests that night!

Well, the Royal Wedding is over.

Kate was Beautiful, of course.

And now, we can finally move on to the 2nd most highly anticipated wedding of the season- OURS!

As of late...

6 weeks from today,

Jordan and I are off to Costa Rica as

Husband and Wife!

Can't wait!

This past weekend was very productive

as far as planning goes.

We made final decisions on cake(as seen here)

and flowers.

We chose hydrangeas for our flowers

and while we are using a florist for our bouquets,

we are going to be putting together the centerpieces ourselves!

We also visited with Diane at Cragun's, again,

to finalize details for everything from the rehearsal to the dancing.

The only thing that was unsettling while we were there

was just exactly how frozen the lake is still.

Being that Brainerd is 2 hours North of where we are,

they are just that much further behind in thawing out from winter.

In fact, they had another foot of snow just over a week ago!

Our fingers are crossed for some serious spring weather in the next 6 weeks

to melt that ice;)

Other than that,

it has been so much fun recieving RSVPs in the mail!
We are so pleased with the turnout so far! 

 And, I am looking forward to another wonderful shower

hosted by Jordan's aunts this weekend!

I spotted this pretty little colorboard on 100 Layer Cake and I just had to share!

I love the way the colors go together and I think it helps that I just so happen to love art, donuts and shoes... Brilliant!

Reality Sets In...

It's hard to explain, but when you are 2 months out from the wedding, and your to-do list begins to include things like:

• sending out invitations: working on it now
• doing a practice run through of your hair and make-up: practiced my hair yesterday!
• finalizing contracts with your bakery and florist, etc: contracts are in the mail
• Planning the ceremony: we meet with our pastor this week
• shopping for the honeymoon: always

...Reality sets in.
