LOVE: Pretty Embroidery

I just LOVE the embroidered hanky around this bouquet.
Maybe because, I grew up using dish towels embroidered with my grandma Jane's beautiful designs, which now fill my own kitchen, it just seems so sentimental. When I saw it, I knew I wanted one, too, personalized by grandma.
I found the prettiest little site, here, and ordered a couple hankies of my own.

My grandma is coming into town this weekend and I can't wait to share my idea with her, I know she will love it!

My Something Blue

The Knot Book of Wedding Lists.

 I love lists.
I have a white board in the kitchen specifically for to-do lists and grocery lists, etc. Not to mention my extensive collection of post-its and cute little notebooks for lists on the go, it always helps me to write things down and there is nothing better than the satisfaction of crossing off my accomplishments. You get the point.
With the millions of things to do when wedding planning, my wedding clearly requires a book of it's own dedicated to lists.
The book breaks down the wedding into categories such as The Wedding Plan (how you envision the day), The Reception, The Ceremony, The Guests, The Flowers and Decor, The Honeymoon, etc.
Each category includes helpful tips and a checklist of essential questions for you and your vendors.

At this point, I don't know what I'd do without it!

LOVE: Heart Shaped Foods

They say "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and with Valentine's Day just around the corner, what better way to say "I love you" than these heart shaped foods?

Almond french toast. yum! Who wouldn't want to wake up to these? (hint, hint...)

I love homemade pizza any night of the week but this heart shaped crust is perfect for Valentine's Day! Being that my valentine prefers his pizza sans olives, we will most likely opt for other flavors such as:

And because no Valentine's Day (or any other day of the year) is complete without chocolate, these walnut chocolate cookies should do the trick!

Inspired By: A Vineyard Wedding

My inspiration this morning came to me while perusing one of my most favorite blogs.
This vineyard wedding is a flawless culmination of my most favorite things:
Breathtaking scenery, black bridesmaid dresses, burlap table runners, yummy cupcakes and an absolutely stunning bride in a white dress with (Omg! I die!) BLACK shoes!
Love, Love, Love.

What Happens in AZ, Stays in AZ

When the conversation first began about bachelor/ bachelorette parties, my idea was that we do them together. I thought it would be great to get everyone up north for a weekend. The girls could do a spa day while the boys...do whatever boys do, and then we all meet up at night and go out together?
To say the boys considered my idea for even a millisecond would be an exaggeration.
What I didn't realize was, for as long as I have been daydreaming about diamond rings, white dresses and flowers, Jordan's friends have been plotting his bachelor party... Some had even included the event specifically on their "bucket lists"! And as it turns out, inviting the bride and her friends was not a part of their plan. Oh,well.
So, tonight, a plane of 13 twenty-something bachelors makes its way to Phoenix, Arizona for a crazy weekend  including MUCH warmer weather, a PGA golf tournament (more famous for it's partying than its players) and Superbowl Sunday.

Have fun, boys!!

If The Shoe Fits...

I fell in love these Nine West beauties, a couple months ago, and purchased them at a sale price that could not be passed up!
I loved the idea of wearing them for our wedding!
My bridesmaids will be in black dresses and when I pick up my dress, Surprise! Black shoes!

Unfortunately, my mom was less than thrilled when I showed them to her.
I don't think it was the shoe itself as much as the fact that they were black! Even given that my dress is floor length and most people will probably not even notice, she could not get passed it.
When the topic of my wedding shoes came up at dinner with my aunts and grandma, I knew I was going to lose this battle. You should have seen their faces...BLACK shoes? This, after I had already chosen an off-white dress and opted out of the veil or tiara? How was anyone supposed to know I am the bride?!

Because I believe in compromise, and the fact that a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes, I'm afraid my black shoes have been demoted to "party shoes" and the hunt is on(again) for a nude/beige/ivory pair that will walk down the aisle AND please my mother/aunts/grandma...
